Aarogya Setu App Downloads Surpass 10 Million Mark

In a time when the entire world is facing a war-like situation fighting against the novel coronavirus, the Indian government is leaving no stone unturned to save its population. Be it implementing lockdown in the country or distributing free ration to every household, the centre is trying its best to come up with the best possible support. In this line, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology developed a mobile app, Aarogya Setu to connect the people of the country with essential health services to fight against COVID-19. Now, as per the reports, Aarogya Setu App downloads surpass 10 million mark on Google Play

However, Apple doesn’t come up with the figures but it is ranking on the top of the charts on health and fitness apps on Apple’s App Store. In its speech today, PM Modi has urged the people of India to download the app so that they can identify the areas of contracting the virus through its location features and Bluetooth. Before that Aarogya Setu app downloads surpass 10 million mark.

Aarogya Setu is developed by the National Informatics Centre which works under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The app works in sync with the data of coronavirus patients shared by the government. With the help of location feature, it alerts the users it has come in the range of less than six feet to a person infected with the coronavirus. Due to these features, Aarogya Setu app downloads surpass 10 million mark.

Apart from this, Aarogya Setu app also asks the user to undergo COVID-19 test and arrange an appointment at the nearby testing facility. Aarogya Setu app also offers prevention tips along with chatbot facility to answer and provide information related to the coronavirus. The app is available in 11 Indian languages and prevention tips, and a chatbot to answer queries on the virus. Aarogya Setu App downloads surpass 10 million mark and available in 11 Indian languages.
