There is no doubt in the fact that COVID-19, which is commonly known as Coronavirus has taken all the businesses and economies by storm including the tech industry. While the government is doing its best to mitigate the effect that Coronavirus has had on the economy of their countries, what tech companies are doing their bit to mitigate Coronavirus pandemic? Well, the effects of this contagious virus are ill on both people as well as society, especially when most of the countries affected by it have lockdown citizens in their homes. Last week, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that the company will donate millions of masks in parts in the US and Europe for the health professionals to fight against the novel Coronavirus. His tweet stated, “Our teams at Apple have been working to help source supplies for healthcare providers fighting COVID-19. We’re donating millions of masks for health professionals in the US and Europe. To every one of the heroes on the front lines, we thank you.” He further clarified that Apple will donate 10 million masks in the US and millions more for some of the hardest disease-hit regions in Europe.

Instagram is embracing most of its potential by informing Coronavirus prevention techniques to its users. It has already pinned a call-out message at the top of users’ feed. At some places, it is even showing a link of the information from WHO along with a message to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Twitter also has similar notice whenever someone searches for Coronavirus-related hashtags.
