If the speculations are believed, WhatsApp will soon allow you to share self-destructing photos on its platform. It is currently working on this new feature with an aim to boost privacy. Once updated, you will be able to share the photos that will delete automatically after it is seen by the recipient.

WABetaInfo, which is a feature tracker of WhatsApp shared some screenshots depicting who the feature will work in the messaging app. In one of the screenshots, it shows that the feature will work using an exclusive timer button. Users will have to tap the button after adding the media files. The latest feature is yet to come for testing.

The feature will work similarly to self-destructing messages that are already in place on WhatsApp, which allow the users to send messages that can be deleted automatically by itself over a period of time selected. This time duration varies from an hour, a day, month or even a year.

As per the reports by WABetaInfo, all the videos and images that are sent by enabling the self-destructing feature will not only get deleted from the chat thread but also from the phone as well after it has been opened. Other than that, WhatsApp will most probably highlight those media files with the help of a timer icon so that the recipient will get to know that these files will delete as soon as they will leave the chat window.

WhatsApp feature to share self-destruct messages is almost similar to Instagram, which allows users to send photos and videos as direct messages. However, it is still unknown to all of how or if this feature will work in the WhatsApp group chats or not.
