Backend & Core (Python / Go)

•    Proficiency in Python 3.11+ and Object-Oriented programming

•    Advanced knowledge of FastAPI

•    Advanced knowledge of API security, authentication and authorization

•    Experience developing RESTful web APIs and real-time WebSocket services

•    Familiarity with background job, queue, and task scheduling frameworks: APScheduler and AWS SQS (boto3)

•    Advanced knowledge of data structures and algorithms with attention to time/space complexity

 

AI / LLM Integration

•    Experience integrating LLMs via the OpenAI SDK and prompt orchestration, tools/agents, and token budgeting

•    Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) SDK for tool/agent integration

•    Awareness of speech/audio tooling (STT/TTS) as used by the assistant services is a plus

 

Database & Caching

•    Advanced knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL

•    Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and connection-pool sizing

•    Proficiency with Redis for caching, session/state storage, and ephemeral coordination

 

 

Distributed Systems & Architecture

•    Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable, high-performing applications and how they fit into a larger microservices/distributed system

•    Understanding of multi-tenant architecture — tenant isolation, data segregation, and shared-infrastructure patterns

•    Understanding of asynchronous and event-driven processing, publish/subscribe, at-least-once delivery, dead-letter handling, idempotency, and eventual consistency

•    Familiarity with resilience patterns — circuit breakers, retries with back-off, and graceful degradation across service boundaries

 

Angular & Frontend

•    Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-performance UIs using Angular 21+ and TypeScript 5.9+, leveraging standalone components, the modern control-flow syntax and Signals-based reactivity

•    Mastery of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript (ES6+)

•    Advanced knowledge of NgRx and Deep command of RxJS

•    Expert understanding of Angular change detection (OnPush), the modern esbuild-based @angular/build:application builder, lazy loading, and bundle analysis

•    Strong command of Node.js and npm dependency/build tooling, including authoring and maintaining shared in-house component/utility libraries

•    Apply Angular architectural best practices — LIFT principles, Smart/Dumb (Container/Presentational) components, the Façade pattern, route guards, resolvers, and typed HttpClient services with HTTP interceptors (auth token attachment, error handling, retry)

•    Experience with real-time and media (Agora RTC/RTM SDKs socket.io-client (and HLS playback (hls.js) for session replay

•    Proficiency with the platform UI toolkit Bootstrap 5

•    Advanced knowledge of frontend authentication as well as custom JWT/cookie session flows (bearer + OTP), with secure token handling

•    Proficiency writing unit tests with Karma/Jasmine

•    Security-first frontend development anticipate and mitigate common vulnerabilities (XSS, CSRF, insecure token storage, dependency CVEs), leveraging Angular sanitization and CSP

•    Comfortable maintaining and progressively modernizing a legacy Angular 15 codebase (Bootstrap/jQuery, webpack builder) alongside the current Angular 21 apps

 

Infrastructure & DevOps

•    Experience with CI/CD via Bitbucket Pipelines and artifact management

•    Familiarity with AWS services: S3, SQS, SES, STS and similar

•    Familiarity with monitoring/observability tooling (Splunk experience a plus)

•    Familiarity with security scans, penetration tests, and vulnerability remediation

 

 

 

Collaboration & Tooling

•    Familiarity with the Atlassian suite: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket

•    Experience with Git branching strategies, pull-request workflows, and code review practices

•    Experience working in remote and async-first collaboration environments

 

Experience Requirements

•    5+ years of experience in software engineering

•    3+ years of experience in a SaaS organization

•    Proven experience building production Angular applications (recent major versions strongly preferred) and Python/FastAPI backend services

•    Experience with real-time systems (WebSockets and/or WebRTC/Agora) in production

•    Experience with event-driven architectures using message brokers and/or cloud queues (SQS)

•    Experience integrating LLM/RAG capabilities into production applications is a strong plus

•    Experience with SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks

•    Experience working remotely with distributed teams across timezones

•    Exposure to native mobile (Kotlin/Android or Swift/iOS) that consumes these APIs is a nice-to-have

 

Tasks & Responsibilities

Backend Services — Ownership

•    Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, reliable, and scalable FastAPI services (udesk-service and the AI assistant services) — REST + WebSocket APIs backed by PostgreSQL and Redis

•    Own and evolve the APIs supporting the Angular web clients and the mobile layer — contract design, versioning, and backward compatibility

•    Build and maintain background jobs, schedulers, batch/cron tasks, and event consumers/publishers across RabbitMQ and SQS

•    Maintain and extend the Go Agora microservice (token issuance and cloud recording to S3)

•    Uphold multi-tenant architecture principles and tenant-scoped data access across all backend work

•    Identify performance bottlenecks and develop solutions in a high-traffic multi-tenant SaaS environment

 

AI / Assistant Layer

•    Build and maintain LLM-powered features — LangChain/OpenAI orchestration, MCP tool integrations, and RAG pipelines over pgvector/FAISS

•    Own embedding, retrieval, and prompt strategies; monitor quality, latency, and token cost

•    Integrate speech and third-party AI services (STT/TTS, transcription) where the product requires

 

Angular Web Clients — Full Ownership

•    Own the Angular 21 applications (udesk internal platform and the uweb participant/moderator client) — frontend architecture, NgRx state design, component development, and maintenance

•    Build real-time experiences — live moderated Agora video sessions, socket.io presence/chat, and HLS session replay

•    Design and build new features and enhancements as the business requires, including the ongoing NgModule → standalone migration

•    Maintain and progressively modernize the legacy Angular 15 app (curious-io)

•    Build and maintain shared npm component/utility libraries used across the frontend team

•    Drive frontend performance through lazy loading, bundle analysis, and change-detection optimization; enforce lint, coverage, and bundle-size gates in CI

 

Architecture & Design

•    Translate business requirements into full-stack solutions spanning FastAPI/Go backends and Angular frontends

•    Create design documents from software requirements and maintain architecture documentation

•    Apply scalability and resilience methodologies (caching, queuing, circuit breaking) in a consistent and robust manner

•    Define and evolve full-stack engineering standards (API contracts, state boundaries, component patterns) as the team scales

 

Security & Compliance

•    Own authentication/authorization integration end-to-end — Keycloak OIDC and custom JWT/cookie flows across services and clients

•    Identify and remediate common frontend and API vulnerabilities within defined SLAs

•    Participate in quarterly SOC 2 compliance activities including static, dynamic, and 3rd-party library scans

•    Apply security-first development practices and dependency hygiene across the stack

 

Incident Response

•    Support incident response and troubleshooting for enterprise clients within defined SLAs

•    Use structured logs for diagnosis and post-incident review

•    Identify root causes and implement permanent fixes for production issues across backend and frontend

 

Team & Collaboration

•    Collaborate closely with the US-based oversight engineer, the technical architect, and peer engineers

•    Participate in code reviews across backend and frontend codebases and establish code-quality standards

•    Mentor and guide mid-level engineers as the India team scales

•    Work effectively in a remote, async-first environment across timezones
